01/01/2014 Mount Jefferson Attempt

Mount Jefferson Attempt - turned around at approx 4400 feet due to time of day and above treeline conditions

Trip report to follow- lots of fresh snow 3-6 inches deep below treeline, more snow above treeline- all trails have not seen any hikers recently based on my fresh boot prints breaking trail

Castle Trail / Israel Ridge Path / Castle Ravine Trail (turn around at 4400 feet) / Emerald Trail / Israel Ridge Path / The Link (briefly, to check out the flat ledge at top of First Cascade)  / Castle Trail
